Disappointed

Well, I had an interesting weekend.

I am kinda disappointed on several levels though, I got to see some friends which was awesome, but that was about it.

I am really unhappy with my cleaning effort, I wanted everything to end up all neat and sexy in the lounge (those of you who have seen my little arrangment will know just how messy it is). But, now it is just harder to get to the back of stuff.

I also found out that a friend of Brett and I might not have the most honerable intentions with us and isn’t being honest. I am going to let brett deal with that – he is much better at it. But, it still hurts a little.

And finally, last night I let Brett down somehow. I am not entirely sure what I did. But – so we are clear, I did enjoy it. (I can’t say more then that it would end up being dirty) ;)

Anyway – interesting weekend.

Cleaning

I am half way through cleaning my lounge (which is kinda also my server room) – I have re-organised most everything – and it is looking ok – except I have nowhere to put my right speaker… :( anyway. Just thought you would want to know :) I am going to bed now :P

More voip

Ok, still playing. I got one of these – holy crap! They are shit. If you see something made by Sipura, either a SPA-1000, SPA-2000 or SPA-3000 Don’t buy it!
It has been so hard to setup to work with anything let alone asterisk. It doesn’t detect busy or even have anything resembeling australian tones and cadences.
For a product that is re-sold here – the re-sellers really appear to not give a crap.
It comes with a little tiny brochure, with no information beyond how to plug it in. If you want more support you are directed to a website… which you then have to be a RESELLER to actually log in and see any support content beyond the FAQ and a re-print of the un-handy “Quickstart guide”
All in all, if you don’t undestand what I am saying here – this is a CRAP product.
If I can work out the really weird notation on the tone generation strings – I will let you know what they in case there is somebody else out there unfortunate to enough to have paid money for it.

VOIP

Ok, this is really cool. I have been messing with Asterisk (a free *nix based PBX) and VOIP the last few days, and I gotta say – it absolutly rocks!

I have been doing all sorts of crap with it – wait till you call us at home and have to get through the IVR to talk to us – you will love it!

VOIP connectivity is by these guys – so far they have been great (slow support but good) – Australian Technology Partnerships :: Your Partners in Technology

Big Day!

Well – what a big day I had? I got up – cleaned a whole heap of ice-cream that had melted all over the floor up, had breakfast with Brett and his parents who had come to do our gardening. Then…

I went to bed… and slept untill about three-thirty. Brett woke me up in the middle of my sleep to give me a neck massage to try and get rid of my headache which was great. But that’s it!

All I did today, eat and sleep :)

Tonight we are off to Kenny’s 18th and then more sleep!

Worst night ever

Well, what a night.
We went to the regatta for my godmothers sons 21st. But we had problems even before we got there.
I came home from work and Brett went to the gym. The problem was that when i got home i didn’t open the windows. My thought process here was that we were about to leave anyway and there was a pretty severe storm about to hit.
This however was wrong. It seems that brett wanted the windows opened, and no ammount of apologising on my part could stop him from being really pissed over it.
We eventually left straight after i made another mistake – asking him to do hid laces up in the waiting cab.
Then we got there.
I tried calling my mother, it rang then rejected me. I called again, rejected again, and again. So I tried my father, no answer.
So we asked one of the door boys, he didn’t know anything was on, went to the front door, asked that door boy, he didn’t know he asked the security guard, he checked on his radio. No, nothing – just a farewell upstairs.
So I called my mother again, who answered this time, after I told her what the staff had said she let fly with a string of french (the vulgar kind) and then said she would call Sandra.
After all this, and Brett already pissed of at me, it became too much for him, so he went home in a cab. This upset ne a great deal, and just as I was dealing with that – my parents turn up.
A quick argument out front, and then we go in. As we head in I got an apology from the security guard for telling me the wrong thing, as there was indeed a 21st in a funtion room upstairs.
We got upstairs, did the hugs and kisses, then we stood there. This is really my fault I should point out, as by this stage I was feeling none too social.
My sister eventually turned up two and a half hours late, then we did speaches. I got a mention as the only person turned away and that was that.
Finally the night looked like it was going to be ok. My mother and sister, Sandy (my godmother) and I were sitting in a quiet corner talking. But no, the world was not quite done fucking with me.
A stocky security guard waddled over and informed us that my sister, of age 22, would have to leave as she had no ID and it was now past 10. My godmother who had just started relaxing didn’t deserve to have to deal with it, so I started to. At this point my mother decided to start yelling at me telling me not to get involved and grabbing at my arms. The security guard then decided that he didn’t have to deal with me, and refused to continue the conversation.
My godmother then stepped in and walked away with him. I sat down and tried to calm down, but couldn’t. I was about to snap so I stood up, said goodnight and left.

VW Car Ad

Ok, now this is just wrong – but it is SO funny I had to share it. It comes courtesy of Johnsee from sandstorming.com.

It is the funniest car advertisment I have ever seen!

New Phone

I have my p910i now!

Thank-you brett! :)

It is very cool, except some of the software I had for my p900 won’t work because it is IEMI locked – which sucks a little

Queensland Rail do have a sense of humor

So, this building is opposite where I work, and it has ammused Graham and I for many years now.

It is evidence that Queensland Rail really does have a sense of humor.

Sorry for the obstruction – but it says "Queensland Rail Training Centre"
