End of Roadshow

I have just spent two weeks touring a corporate seminar around. It was quite interesting. This year we were using one hotel chain – Rydges (Which are owned / operated by AHL – you know them, they also own Greater Union and such…)
We started in Canberra, then Adelaide then Back to Brisvegas for the first Friday. Then Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
It doesn’t sound that bad now does it? 6 cities in two weeks. And it was only a small conference type thing. 20 – 40 people in most cities, small sit down/theatre style setup.
There are a few things that venue’s need to get right – firstly – having everything setup when you arrive, that’s nice.
Not that I want to put myself out of a job, but some of the venue’s we went to are coming close to doing it – we arrived, they had seating out, screen up and even a VGA cable to the projector – and everything was pretty much right to go.
But, then you have other venues, where they know nothing about the internet offering they have – they give you the bare minimum (lectern and a table that they know is for a projector – but no cableing) and there is quite a bit of work involved.
On the whole, my experience with Rydges was quite positive. All except Melbourne – which is an entry in itself.
